I've been absent because I've been binging DAV; enjoying the game a lot, but I gotta agree with all my discussions I've had with friends: they really sanded down any of the edge/darkness DA had, and I think that's a mistake and a loss, tbh. Still a good game and I'm having fun, but there's a lot of wasted potential.

Also they keep retconning/ignoring parts of lore/world building (esp the darker aspects) from older games and it annoys me, but whatever

Dnp recreating their own relationship in the sims not once but twice is so funny to me, like Devan was already clearly meant to be them and now they’ve paired Dalien up with the most Dan looking boy in school when he had several other options

Realized how often the Narrator anthropomorphizes things in the Ultra Deluxe in order to encourage or bait Stanley. Which is so much different than how he was in the past endings, specifically the apartment ending. The way he now refers to all the different quotable and memorable objects in the game as Stanley’s friends.

There’s just something about the way the Narrator does at least deeply try to relate to Stanley’s need as a human, understanding more that we are sociable creatures. Giving us the bucket as something to cherish and playing along with the notion (despite getting very obviously upset when Stanley gets too attached to the bucket and then tries to break down that narrative). The attempt made to actually reach out to Stanley in a human-like way.

I don’t know where I’m going with this but the attempt at connection through the similar actions of a person or something like that. Acknowledgement of human needs, even if it's more or less the bare minimum effort.

Nora knew that was boring as shit and instead blessed us by having these motherfuckers do their absolute best to manipulate and lie to each other for the whole first book and half the second. And it's absolutely better that way.

In general the Capitol being kinda uncertain about it all? In the books a lot of them are uncomfortable about it and make it known but here it's just Sejanus and Tigris really

Mini rant below and in the tags, the only time I’ll talk about this and my personal take on it.
